With the release on October 1st of LOVE FOR SALE, Tony Bennett’s new album with Lady Gaga celebrating the music of Cole Porter, the 95-year-old singer has broken another GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™. Tony Bennett is now the oldest person to release an album of new material at the age of 95 years and 60 days.
Lady Gaga, who spoke recently about how she values the inter-generational friendship she has shared with Tony Bennett since they first met 10 years ago, comments in this clip, “I see a young boy every time I sing with him, and it just makes the experience of singing so freeing. To have it be about two souls singing together….and then at the same time, I also take in all his wisdom. The wisdom of all his years.”
LOVE FOR SALE, released on Columbia Records/Interscope is Bennett’s last studio album of his over 70-decade career which has garnered him 19 Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. The new album’s release comes ten years after Tony and Lady Gaga first recorded the single, “Lady Is A Tramp” in 2011, which was followed by their first full album together, CHEEK TO CHEEK, in 2014. The third video from LOVE FOR SALE, featuring the classic Cole Porter tune “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” was premiered on MTV on Friday in conjunction with the album’s release.
