Multi-platinum award winning duo Mau y Ricky announce the launch of their new independent label venture, Why Club Records, in partnership with Warner Music Latina. The newly formed record label will not only act as home for the duo but will also look to impact culture through music with a purpose, supporting artists who have something to say and want to break through the mold. A house for artists that care to impact collectively, not just individually.
Mau y Ricky additionally reveal that they’re set to release the first single on their new label “Vas a Destrozarme” on October 5th at 8PM ET, available for pre-order today HERE! The track is the first off the duo’s upcoming album, Hotel Caracas, joining forces with the dynamic team of GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Malay [Frank Ocean, Lorde, FLETCHER] and multiplatinum artist and songwriter JP Saxe, as well as longtime collaborator and friend, multiple Latin Grammy winner JonTheProducer. The new LP is set to be their boldest, brightest, and biggest statement yet.
In this new stage, the duo will continue to be managed by Armando Lozano, a trusted member of Mau y Ricky’s team since the beginning of their careers. In addition, long time day-to day-manager, Neus Borrell is set to take on the role of Managing Director of Why Club Records.

The Venezuela-born and Miami-based Latin GRAMMY® Award-nominated diamond-certified duo have quietly impacted Latin music and culture from nearly every angle. Immersed in music since childhood, Mau y Ricky’s first placement came in 2014, opening the floodgates as they co-wrote massive hits for artists like Karol G, Ricky Martin, Maluma, Anitta, including the generational juggernaut “Sin Pijama” for Becky G and Natti Natasha. The latter notably achieved a 38x-Latin Platinum and landed on Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Reggaeton Songs of All Time.”
This signature sound, channeled by creativity and strength from their brotherly bond, certainly defined their 2019 full-length artist debut, Para Aventuras y Curiosidades. The latter boasted the diamond-certified anthem “Ya No Tiene Novio” with Sebastián Yatra that hit #1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart and multiplatinum smash “Mi Mala (Remix)” with Karol G and featuring Becky G, Leslie Grace, and Lali, “Desconocidos,” which is certified Diamond and hit song “La Boca.” Last year, the duo came out with smash hit “Llorar y Llorar” with Carin
León that hit #1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay, and #1 at Latin Pop Airplay. They have also notably garnered Latin GRAMMY® Award nominations.
Mau y Ricky have piled up billions of streams, numerous diamond certifications and sold out shows in multiple countries. The duo’s synergy is reflected in their extensive catalog, both as artists on stage and as composers behind the scenes, and it’s that connection that continues to drive them, reflecting that magic in their recent releases and in what is yet to come.
