2021 has been a momentous year for critically acclaimed K-Pop outfit ITZY, as the group continue to break their own personal records on both the charts and with streams. Their most recent full-length studio debut, CRAZY IN LOVE, is no exception, as the album took the #1 spot across multiple Billboard charts this week, including Top Album Sales, Top Current Album Sales, World Albums, Tastemaker Albums and Independent Albums charts. The release also made a strong debut on Billboard’s Top 200-album chart where it reached #11, making ITZY only the third female K-pop group to date that has scored within the chart’s top 15. Additional charts reached include Spotify’s Top 10 Debut Albums, where it debuted at #3 both in the US and globally, and Rolling Stone’s album chart where it reached #22.
The album’s lead single “LOCO” also made a strong debut on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart reaching #4, as well as Spotify’s Top 10 Global Song Debut chart, where it reached #6. The official music video for the track made a big splash as well, crossing 1-million views within 26-minutes of its September 24th release on YouTube, which quickly grew to 10-million views within 21 hours and reached the third highest trending music video worldwide on YouTube. Further, coinciding with the September 24th release, the hashtag «ITZY_LOCOcomeback” was the #2 world-wide trending topic on Twitter that day. The video currently holds an impressive 67-million views and growing.

CRAZY IN LOVE follows ITZY’s spring 2021 EP release GUESS WHO, which marked the group’s debut on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart, peaking at No. 148. The milestone was the latest in series of triumphs that has helped solidify ITZY as one of K-Pop’s dominating forces thus far. To date, the group has achieved five Top 10 hits on the Billboard K-Pop 100 chart, and six Top 10 hits on Billboard’s World Digital Songs Sales charts, and currently holds a social reach of over 15-million devoted followers world-wide.
ITZY continues to elevate their star power stateside with recent features in Rolling Stone, who featured the group in their June “The Future of Music” Issue, TIME Magazine, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, Seventeen, and Teen Vogue to name a few. In January, ITZY had their first national US broadcast appearance with MTV’s Fresh Out Live, racking in the largest performance views MTV has received for the platform to date.
